Anne Grimm (Soprano).Born: Holland.
The Dutch soprano, Anne Grimm, graduated from the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam (with Erna Spoorenberg and Margreet Honig) and received a grant from the Dutch Stage Arts Fund, enabling her to continue her studies in London (with Noëlle Barker). She was a member of the studio ensemble of the International Opera Center Holland, where she sang the role of Musetta in La Bohème on tour in the USA. Recently she was a participant of the Steans Institute for Young Artists at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. The soprano followed master-classes with a.o. Kurt Equiluz, Elly Ameling, Daniël Ferro and Jard van Nes.

In concert Anne Grimm appears frequently with the Amsterdam Baroque Choir and Orchestra under Ton Koopman appearing at the festivals of a.o. Salzburg, Amiens and Ambronay (a.o. in Georg Frideric Handel's Samson) and with the Amsterdam Bach Soloists under Roy Goodman (Bach Cantatas for solo soprano and Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248), a.o. Amsterdam Concertgebouw). She has also appeared with Gabriel Chmura and the Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra, Hermann Max, Wieland Kuijken and Jos van Veldhoven with De Nederlandse Bachvereniging. The soprano also sings Lieder recitals on a regular basis in Amsterdam and in the major cities of Canada.

On the operatic stage Anne Grimm's credits include Monteverdi's L'Orfeo with De Nederlandse Opera, G.F. Handel’s Rinaldo under Christophe Rousset, Bononcini's Il Trionfo di Camilla at the Oude Muziekfestival Utrecht, Sartorio's L'Orfeo under Stephen Stubbs in the Dresdner and Bremen Festspiele and Händelfestspiele Halle (also recorded on CD for Vanguard Classics).

Anne Grimm's recordings include CD and TV programs of Bach's Cantatas with Ton Koopman (Erato) and Los Elementos by Antonio de Literes (1673-1747) with Al Ayre Espanôl under Eduardo Lopez Banzo (Harmonia Mundi). She also appears on CD with De Nederlandse Bach Vereniging performing 17th century Musical Dialogues ('Saints & Sinners'; Channel Classics).

Last summer (2000) Anne Grimm took part in Purcell's King Arthur under Jan Willem de Vriend with the Combattimento Consort at the Holland Festival; furthermore she has been on tour in Europe with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra under Ton Koopman where she sang the role of Dalilah in G.F. Handel's Samson. She has also sung zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte) with the Nationale Reisopera.

In 2001 Anne Grimm performed the role of Diane in G.F. Handel’s Apollo e Dafne at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci.

Future engagements include a.o. a G.F. Handel programme with the Amsterdamse Bach Solisten at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and performances of Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem with het Noord Nederlands Orkest under Dirk Vermeulen.
