In furore is the idéal score for any soprano who's spoiling for a fight – with herself. Over and above the triumphant virtuosity of this motet, 1 think it must be the communicative, radiant energy it inspires which makes it such a pleasure to perform. The Laudote pueri is one of those rare works I fell madly and irretrievably in love with at first sight. It's to Jean-Claude Malgoire that 1 owe that emotion, and the discovery of a rich vocal palette surprising in a composer best known for his instrumental music. For years I've felt a deep-seated need to record thèse pieces. 1 was delighted to have the idéal conditions to fulfil that personal dream, litre an écho ofNaïve's own crazy dream: the Vivaldi Edition.
